Top Videogiochi Beat'Em Up

I Picchiaduro a scorrimento (Beat'Em Up) sono i vecchi giochi d'azione 2D e hanno spopolato negli anni '90 per come erano semplici ed immediati e permettevano a due amici di giocare insieme andando avanti picchiando orde di nemici. I primissimi giochi di questo tipo sono usciti negli anni 80 come River City Ransom e Double Dragon, poi degni di nota furono i giochi delle tartarughe ninja tra cui Turtles in Time e la saga di Golden Axe ma è solo con l'arrivo della trilogia di Streets of Rage sul megadrive che il genere ha raggiunto il massimo del suo splendore e divennero iconiche le battaglie tre le strade, le barre della vita gialle con i nomi dei nemici, spaccare barili e casse, la presa ravvicinata, il raccogliere armi, il cibo per curarsi, le frecce che spronavano ad andare avanti, e tanti furono quelli che cercarono spuduratamente di imitarlo e copiarlo tra cui la trilogia di Final Fight della Capcom. Ovviamente le versioni arcade erano migliori di quelle console e alcuni giochi non furono neanche mai trasposti così ci sono ancora oggi gemme perdute e dimenticate come l'ottimo Aliens vs Predator, the Punisher, Cadillacs e Dinosaurs, etc. Poi con l'arrivo dei videogiochi 3D e lo stylish action Devil May Cry la formula dei vecchi beat'em Up è quasi morta perchè non è riuscita ad evolversi o adattarsi, qualche piccolo tentativo è stato fatto ma le spietate meccaniche arcade risultavano oramai datate e il genere è rimasto troppo conservatore e fossilizzato a una difficoltà irritante con movimenti troppo lenti, livelli lineari, nessuna possibilità di fare progressi, il solito noioso sistema di battaglia a due tasti, il colpo speciale che toglie vita, storie banali e dimenticabili e nel complesso poca ambizione di sviluppo, comunque negli anni sono usciti vari giochi carini come ad esempio Scott Pilgrim vs the world o Castle Crashers ma solo God Hand di Shinji Mikami ha provato a portare il genere verso una nuova strada 3D ma anche quello non è stato un grande successo commerciale. Ma anche se prigioniero delle due dimensioni negli ultimi anni Il genere ha riscoperto una nuova rinascita grazie agli indie e ottimi titoli come Street of Rage 4 e Shredder's Revenge, giochi che omaggiano il passato ma che hanno saputo portare anche tante innovazioni aggiungendo una vasta gamma di mosse come nei picchiaduro e varie modalità di gioco come le battaglie randomiche in stile Rogue-like.
